paul-clarke I just found out that Lt. Col Paul Clarke (USAF – Ret.), a Senior Fellow with the Truman Project, is going to give the opening remarks at the Cycle for Security San Francisco Launch Party next week. I could not be more thrilled and humbled to have him as the guest of honor at the event!

Lt. Col Clarke was an active duty Air Force officer from 1987-2000.  Over the course of his career, he has served as a director at the National Security Council, as White House Assistant Press Secretary , and a senior intelligence officer for the deployable unit within US Northern Command.  In 2006, Lt. Col Clarke deployed to the Persian Gulf in a senior position supporting operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He now teaches at the Naval Postgraduate School, Navy War College, and the Air Command and Staff College.

It means so much to have someone who has spent his life in service to our nation at the highest level come out to support the Make US Strong campaign. It is a clear indicator of how important it is to America’s national security that we fight for, protect, and grow our country’s international development budget.

On a personal level, Lt. Col Clarke’s career is deeply inspiring and I’m really looking forward to meeting this amazing man. I hope to see those of you in the Bay Area at the event on Jan 11th – make sure to pick up a ticket in advance for a few bucks off the door price.
