Cycle for Security Tour: Janessa Goldbeck
In partnership with the Make US Strong campaign, we are proud to announce that Truman Partner Janessa Goldbeck will embark on an ambitious three-month, 4,200-mile bicycle tour across America to deliver the message that a robust foreign aid budget is necessary – not only to keep millions of people alive and safe – but because it is vital to America’s long-term security and economic prosperity.
Janessa is one of a kind and has an extensive background in human rights, national security, and grassroots advocacy campaigns focused on protecting civilians from mass atrocity and genocide. Janessa is also an Officer Candidate with the United States Marine Corps and will resume her training in Virginia after her three month tour.
Along the tour, Janessa will be joined by veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and together they will hold a series of events with students, activists, and policy-makers, to talk about how cutting foreign aid will make us less safe, and will write and video-blog about her journey right here!
Check back here regularly for tour updates, event information, and exciting highlights from Janessa before she begins her tour in February, 2012!
